Ingredients:
- 3 cups flour
- 6 tbsp cocoa
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups cold water
Instructions:
- Sift the flour, cocoa, and baking soda together.
- Whisk in the sugar and salt.
- Make a well and pour in the oil, vinegar, and vanilla. Pour the water on top.
- Mix the batter until smooth.
- Put the batter into a greased/lined 8" round cake pan.
- Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
- Poke holes in the top of the cake and spread a thin layer of frosting on top.
- Let cool completely before decorating.
Frosting:
- 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp softened butter
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 2 tsp vanilla
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Beat with handheld mixer until smooth.
