From "Favorites" Cookbook
1 cup sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
6 cups Special K cereal
1 (11-oz) package chocolate or butterscotch chips
In small saucepan, mix together sugar and corn syrup, bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, vanilla, and salt. Measure cereal in large bowl. Pour hot mixture over Special K and combine. Press in 9"x13" ungreased dish. Melt chips in double boiler or in microwave, stirring frequently. Spread cookies with melted chips. Cool and cut into squares.
